We’re starting this blog to chronicle the development of our game Killtype: Synthetic (K:S) and share in that process with the community. We want to give players a peek behind the scenes during our early development stages, so that the game and the community can grow together. In this space, we’ll discuss the game’s design and technology, share concept art, screenshots and playtest footage, and post status updates regarding our progress.
Our vision for K:S is to build a multiplayer shooter that offers players a high degree of depth and strategy. This will be realized through a few core design goals:
- Weapon, ability, and equipment variety. Creating unique weapons with novel features and functions will be one of the main focuses of development.
- Total load customization. Players will be allowed a great deal of freedom in how they mix and match weapons, abilities, and equipment to assemble different character builds and team compositions.
- Objective-based gameplay. Gameplay modes in K:S will require players to work together as a team to complete objectives.
Through the interplay between the three design goals above, we feel K:S will provide a fresh experience to fans of competitive multiplayer games.
K:S is currently in a pre-alpha state. There is still a lot of work to be done and we look forward to bringing you along for the ride.
